What the add-on reads

When you start an import in E-Clips Studio, the add-on reads the sign-in cookies your browser holds for x.com and twitter.com, and gives them to the Studio page you're on. It reads them only when that page asks, and only when you have not paused sharing.

It does not read your X password, your messages, your timeline, your browsing history, or anything from any other website.

Why it needs that access

X only serves some Space recordings to signed-in accounts. The sign-in cookies are how E-Clips fetches the recording as you. That is the only purpose. The add-on needs permission to read x.com cookies for that reason, and permission to run on Gecoveau pages so Studio can ask it for them.

Where it goes and how long it lives

• The add-on stores nothing about your X account. The only thing it saves is your on/off switch, in your browser.
• Studio sends the sign-in to E-Clips with your import request, over an encrypted connection.
• E-Clips encrypts it, uses it once to download that recording, and deletes it as soon as the download finishes.
• It is never written to logs, never attached to your recordings, and never shared with anyone else.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent, or share your data.
• We do not use the add-on for advertising, analytics, or tracking.
• We do not act on your X account: no posting, following, liking, or messaging.

Your control

Use the switch in the add-on's popup to pause sharing at any time. Remove the add-on from your browser's extensions page to stop it entirely. Signing out of x.com also ends the sign-in the add-on can see.

X's terms

Importing a Space on your own X sign-in may go against X's terms of service. That is your choice and it applies to your account.
