Gecoveau Connect

Some Spaces can only be reached when you're signed in to X. Gecoveau Connect lets E-Clips import those Spaces with your own X account, so it works for Spaces you can hear and doesn't lean on ours. It takes about a minute to set up.

Download Gecoveau Connect (v0.1.0)

What it does

  • When you paste a Space link into E-Clips Studio, the add-on hands E-Clips your X sign-in for that one import.
  • E-Clips uses it once to fetch the recording, then discards it.
  • That's all it does. It doesn't post, follow, read your messages, or touch any other site.

What it never sees or keeps

  • Your X password. You sign in to X the normal way. The add-on only reads the sign-in X has already given your browser.
  • Anything stored. The add-on saves nothing except your on/off switch.
  • Other websites. It only works on x.com and on Gecoveau pages.

Full details are in the Gecoveau Connect privacy policy.

You're in control

Click the pyramid icon in your browser toolbar to see whether you're connected. The switch in that popup pauses sharing completely. While it's off, E-Clips can't get your sign-in, and you can still upload the audio file instead. You can remove the add-on at any time from your browser's extensions page.

Install it

Brave, Chrome, Edge, and Opera all use the same file. Until Gecoveau Connect is in the browser stores, you install it yourself in four steps:

  1. Download the zip and unzip it. Keep the folder somewhere permanent, because your browser reads the add-on from it.
  2. Open your browser's extensions page: brave://extensions, chrome://extensions, edge://extensions, or opera://extensions.
  3. Turn on Developer mode (a switch in the corner of the page).
  4. Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder. Pin the pyramid icon, then sign in at x.com.

Go back to E-Clips Studio and paste a Space link. It will say “Gecoveau Connect is on” on its own, with no reload.

Updating: download the new zip, replace the files in your folder, then click the refresh icon on the extensions page.

Firefox and Safari are coming later. Until then, uploading the audio file always works.

Please read: X's rules

Importing a Space with your own X sign-in is your choice, and it may go against X's terms of service. The sign-in being used is yours, so any consequence from X lands on your account. If you'd rather not take that on, don't install this. Uploading the audio file works the same way and doesn't involve X at all.
