Trains on code
No
Default
The extension only sent anonymous telemetry that excludes code and prompts; the final 2.0.0 release removed anonymous telemetry. Models are whatever you configure.
How to opt out
Nothing to do on 2.0.0+. Older versions: toggle off 'Allow Anonymous Telemetry' (VS Code: uncheck 'Continue: Telemetry Enabled'; CLI: CONTINUE_TELEMETRY_ENABLED=0).
Retention
Depends on the model provider you configure; with a local model nothing leaves your machine.
Telemetry
None in the final 2.0.0 release. Earlier versions: anonymous PostHog events (accept/reject, model name, tokens, OS/IDE).
Disable telemetry
Upgrade to 2.0.0+, or use the toggles above.
Zero data retention
yes · With a local model.
Offline / local model
yes · Configure provider: ollama in config.yaml.
Self-hostable
yes · Local client; bring your own model server.

Notes
The repository README says it 'is no longer actively maintained and is read-only'. The final 2.0.0 release was published Jun 19, 2026 (UTC). Expect no security fixes.
